In a few newer titles, such as Rocket League and more recent Ubisoft games, they do have full support, but in the majority of games they still aren't officially supported (including Dark Souls). PS4 controllers are not natively supported in the majority of games. Most games will automatically detect it and show the correct button prompts. So Xbox controllers are basically plug-and-play - just plug it in, download the drivers, and you're good to go.
